Genuine Fake Books

Aptly named and a clever use of an oxymoron. Just the title of our new found favourite wall coverings decorating our New Stand sets the tone for the intriguing style of self proclaimed Artisigner (artist and designer) Deborah Bowness.

Standing between art and function, Bowness’ wallpaper designs break away from traditional patterns and colours into trompe l’oeil images that appear to interact with the objects in our space.

The wallpapers are made in a small factory in Yorkshire, England. Each design begins life as photographs, joined together in montage, and then digitally printed, life-sized, onto drops of wallpaper. Bowness’ team of skilled printers then revitalize the flattened, monochrome images by silkscreening layers of hand-mixed colours on top and hand painting in finer details.

A deliberate shun of the traditional repeated pattern allows each design to sit naturally as part of the furnishings in the room – full of playful character, yet never overpowering.

Winner of the 2013 Best Wallpaper Collection (manufacturer) from Northern Design Awards

Introducing Madame Blush

Cheeky yet tastefully so, Madame Blush from Mineheart is the latest addition to our New Stand decor. Like our own stand design, it’s tradition meets modern day mischief, erupting in a splash of fluorescent colour.

A proud supporter of British design, Mineheart was launched in 2010 by dynamic designer duo Brendan Young and Vanessa Battaglia. With already two other design consultancies under their belt, Studiomold and Young & Battaglia, the two are internationally recognized and known for their playful approach to design and innovative re-appropriation of materials and imagery.

Together with other designers that share their passion for creation without restraint, they continue to develop the Lovable Collection of furniture, lighting, wallpaper and interior accessories at Mineheart. A carefully curated collection of experiments, thoughts and ideas that inspire, tell a story, or just plain put a smile on people’s faces.

Mineheart takes its name from the Shakespearian English words ‘mine’ and ‘heart’, meaning ‘my heart’.

SNOWDROP to Launch at Autumn Shows

From Stone Designs that brought to life Innermost’s latest exhibition design, we present you – Snowdrop. This delightful lamp was derived from many hours of observing the quiet beauty of various bulbous plants such as the Spring Snowflake, the Lily of the Valley, and of course, the Snowdrop – slender stems gently bowing from the combined weight of a string of colourful blossoms.

From this, designers Cutu Mazuelos and Eva Prego from Stone Designs abstracted a clean, minimalist shape that resembled the amalgamation of those bulbous flowers, carrying with them the various stories and references behind each plant. The resulting Snowdrop light has a soft glow that playfully peeks through candy-coloured veils. And like their floral counterparts, each lamp appears to drift effortlessly in mid-air. Now this gentle ambiance can finally be captured and used to deliver charm and
character to any interior.

Snowdrop will be launching for the first time on Innermost’s exhibition stand this coming September at Maison et Objet in Paris and Designjunction in London the week following.

New Products from October 2014

We received incredible feedback about the new products – Latitude by Flynn Talbot, Parasol by Jonas Forsman, and Gable by Jarrod Lim –  we launched in Frankfurt Light + Building earlier in April. Then we took these beauties to you in Milan, and then back home to our mates in London.

After much anticipation, we are now thrilled to announce that they will be available to order starting from October 2014.

If you haven’t experienced these lights yourself, we will also be bringing them to Maison et Object in France and Designjunction London later in Autumn. Be on the look out for more updates!
