We are proud to announce that Innermost co-founder, Russell Cameron, has been appointed as a Council Member for the LIA, the UK’s Lighting Industry Association which is dedicated to promoting best practice throughout the lighting industry.  As the predominant force behind British lighting, the LIA encourages excellence in lighting design which is why Innermost are proud to have been asked to be Ambassadors of the new Lighting Industry Academy. Innermost’s Steve Jones says “We are delighted to have closer ties to the LIA and of course to have been asked to be ambassadors to the new Lighting Industry Academy. The training academy is the first of its kind in the country and will ensure continued strong lighting design in the UK.”

The LIA represent only the highest calibre of British lighting companies, so we are also happy our Buckle chandelier now serves as the centerpiece for the LIA’s new reception. The unique effect from the delicate lighting sculpture has been likened to light bouncing off water; an impressive installation welcoming visitors to the home of British lighting.

Russell has also been asked to join the judging panel for Delight in Light taking place later this month, which is the National Lighting Designer Competition organised by the LIA. The award strives to promote the very best in lighting from young people and rising talent.  Established in 1985 the Lighting Industry Association Awards have become the premier competition for lighting design students in the UK.  The LIA see this as a mutually beneficial competition for the designers, the end users and for the lighting industry. “Very happy to be part of the judging panel alongside another great British brand and our old friends Anglepoise, the entries this year have been of a very high calibre so deciding from the final 6 is going to be tough” comments Russell.

‘The Delight in Light’ competition provides a platform for many exciting new lighting designs and offers young people an opportunity to better understand the industry. This is an outlook which resonates with Innermost, having always supported upcoming designers by turning many raw ideas into unique and diverse products.
