Darc Awards Night 2018

We had an absolutely fantastic night celebrating the Darc Awards at Fabric last week! Our installation of Kepler & Brixton looked superb in the cavernous interior of the iconic Fabric nightclub, and became one of the most Instagrammed displays of the night!

As a unique addition to Darc Night, we had designed a special version of the futuristic luminaire, Kepler, as a one-off floor lamp. Using the same highly innovative materials as the pendant light, 3 of the specially designed free-standing units were installed in the “Gallery” area of the Darc Awards venue.

We were also delighted to be shortlisted in the Ceiling category for our Kepler pendant light. The night is always great, but the standard this year was incredibly high and we are very proud to be an original sponsor. Co-founder, Russell Cameron commented ‘All awards evenings should be this good!!’

For a closer look at our installation, watch the video highlights here.

Thanks Darc, see you next year!

GREAT Festival 2018

We had a great time at the Great Festival of Innovation last month, it was fantastic to be amongst so many talented brands and learn about the future of innovation between Hong Kong & the UK.

Set at the Asia Society Hong Kong Center at the former Explosives Magazine of the old Victoria Barracks, a cultural, artistic and intellectual hub of cultural and educational programmes. The beautiful surroundings of the Festival of Innovation added to the exciting 3 days of inspiration and networking.

With interactive exhibits and installations from BBC’s Blue Planet, to a Union Jack made from Fortune Cats (and an actual tardis in the courtyard!) – the venue offered so much to explore and discover.

As one of the companies invited to represent the UK on this world stage, Innermost lent furniture for the event. Origami tables were used on the main stage which hosted many great talks about the future of connectivity and innovation.

EOQ also took part and their Bramah pendants looked beautiful over the botanical bar. Joseph floor lamps were also used in the lounge area, giving an elegant finish and demonstrating the excellence of British design quality.

Thanks to the GREAT Festival for having us!

Innermost to represent the UK on international stage

We are heading to Hong Kong this March as part of a select band of businesses showcasing the best of UK industrial and creative excellence to Asian companies.

With our manufacturing operation in the UK, as well as in Asia and other parts of Europe, we will head out to the GREAT Festival of Innovation for a four-day Festival organised by the UK’s Department for International Trade.

Created to showcase the UK as one of the world’s best places to visit, study, invest in and do business, the Festival, taking place 21-24 March 2018, focuses on how innovation will change the way we work, learn and play in the years to come.

Key speakers include leaders of globally recognised businesses, major sports events, cultural institutions and academic establishments.

During the Festival, which forms part of the Government’s GREAT Britain campaign, the audience will have the opportunity to meet fellow business leaders from across Asia to discuss possible future trading and investment opportunities.

Russell Cameron, co-founder of Innermost said:

“It is a fantastic honour for us to be among the businesses invited to attend the Great Festival of Innovation. This promises to be an amazing event that will really showcase the best of UK industry.

Asia is obviously a huge potential market and one that we are eager to further engage with. Consumers across the region love the heritage and quality of UK brands, and now is the ideal time to highlight the world-class skills and innovation that come from these shores.”

Innermost products are to be used as example of Great British design, along with a handful of other innovative brands from the UK.

Top UK figures already confirmed to speak at the Festival include WPP chief executive Sir Martin Sorrell; Lastminute.com co-founder Brent Hoberman and former GCHQ director Robert Hannigan.

More than 60 panel sessions, speaker events and interactive master classes will examine how businesses can make the most of new ideas, technologies and markets. The Festival celebrates existing links between UK and Asia, and promotes enhanced collaboration in the areas of trade, education, media and government. At the same time a comprehensive cultural programme will also showcase the best of UK’s creative arts. Performances include live music, fashion shows, cookery demonstrations and dance.

The Great Festival of Innovation Hong Kong will be the third of its kind, following successful events in Istanbul (2014) and Shanghai (2015). Its vision is to create long-term partnerships that drive the future of free trade and prosperity between the UK and Asia.

The GREAT Britain campaign is currently active in 144 countries and has already delivered £2.7 billion in economic benefits for the UK.

More than 600 invited delegates will attend the Hong Kong event, which takes place at the Asia Society Hong Kong Centre and will feature more than 60 panels and events over its four days.

3 year warranty

Last year we made the decision to extend our standard product warranty to 3 years.
Co-founder Steve Jones explains why we came to the decision and what it means for customers.

Innermost recently launched a 3 year guarantee – what made you do this?

SJ: “Commitment to our customers and belief in our products. Because why not?

We realised the products last well and we are confident of that. In this market it is important to show you believe in your own product line. It is also important to communicate a ‘club’ message to customers, they need to know they are supported and there are benefits.”

The new warranty now guarantees lamps for an additional 2 years, demonstrating confidence in the materials, technology and design of each product, and passing that confidence on to customers. Each product will now come with an official 3 year warranty ‘tag’ attached.

Full details of the warranty includes:

-Workmanship: now guaranteed for 3 years
-Materials: now guaranteed for 3 years
-LED’s: now guaranteed for 3 years

Further warranty improvements:
-Fabric shades: guarantee now extended from 1 to 2 years
-Drivers will continue to be covered by the specific manufacturer’s guarantee – contact us if you have any queries.

Innermost Products on Screen

Top marks to those of you who spotted some Innermost products on the Channel 4’s latest sci-fi fiction, ‘Electric Dreams’, inspired by Philip K Dick’s short stories. The 6th episode ‘Human Is’ starred Bryan Cranston, Essie Davis and Liam Cunningham and also featured Lateralis, Doric & Matrioshka lights!

The BDNY show in New York was an absolute blast! We had an amazing response from everyone that visited us at one of our busiest shows. Thanks for visiting and hi to all our new subscribers.

Darc Awards Drink Party

As the headline sponsor to the 2018 Darc Awards we were proud to host the launch of the decorative lighting awards in conjunction with Darc Magazine at our Oxo Tower showroom and gin bar. Those lucky enough to attend enjoyed a Manchester Tart, After Darc in The Big Smoke! (All excellently crafted and delish gin cocktails.)
The Darc Awards celebrates the best in decorative lighting design – covering all areas of hospitality, commercial, retail, and high end residential projects. The evening was a great launch of the awards process which will culminate in a ceremony in London in May 2018.
